Miniature Fabric panel kit, Marigold Garden Dress

This is a 1/12 scale miniature toddler's dress, bonnet and hand bag that Jean has designed using the wonderful illustrations of flowers, trellises and young ladies from Jean’s original children's book "Marigold Garden" illustrated by Kate Greenway.

Kate Greenway did these wonderful illustrations for this book in 1886. She loved to draw delicate children in Georgian and Regency fashions rather than the Victorian styles of her time. That is why Jean used this Regency style for the design of the dress then created a background of peach and tan to coordinate with the design elements. The hand bag has smaller versions of the trellis design as does the back of the hat. Jean used three different images from the book, a rose garland, the young ladies in the rose trellis and the border design.

This dress is not meant to be worn on a toddler but can be draped over a chair, bed or hung on a dress rack or it could be adapted to fit a small miniature child. The hat and purse fit well on a toddler doll or hang on a rack or hat stand. This floor length dress is 2 3/4" from shoulder to the ruffle on the bottom.
